What it is. A dictionary of food words in plain English — dishes, cooking techniques, ingredients, sauces, pastries and the things you see on menus and packaging. Every entry starts with a one-line "in plain words" version, then a fuller explanation.
How to use it. Type a word in the box and press Look up, or tap any word in the pantry below. Words with a gold highlight have a built-in definition. Spelling doesn't need to be perfect: "tomatoes" finds tomato, "fries" finds French fries.
Join in. Rate any food with the stars to say how much you love it, and leave a note under the definition with a tip, a correction or how your family makes it. The most loved foods appear in the Most loved list.
